Sometimes you find pieces that are real wardrobe heroes. Items that you can wear multiple ways and often they aren’t the items you expect to be so useful. I often find this with a printed piece. At first you might think that being printed, they won’t be particularly versatile, but then you realise that you can pick different colours from the print and wear them in multiple different ways, dressed up or down. Or they may be printed but contain neutral colours which means you can wear them with lots of other accent colours in your wardrobe.
Summer Wardrobe Heroes
Take this pair of trousers, for example. Because they are a navy and white print, I can wear them with my reds, other blues, white/cream and my favourite peach and salmon accents.
Dressed up for the evening with cream and silver accessories
Dressed down for day with a red T-shirt
This top is another Summer wardrobe hero now several years old and still on regular repeat.
Above I’ve added yellow shoes, but I have also worn it with Salmon shoes and Teal shoes and trousers too.
Outfit – all old
And with neutral cream
Top and cardigan – old
Below I’ve shown how to wear a Summer wardrobe hero as a skirt. First casually.
Smarten it up for work.
And wear it to a wedding.
When you find one of these wardrobe heroes don’t be afraid to invest a little more. Hopefully as I have shown, you will get great cost per wear from it.
In case you missed it, check out this post about wearing a printed top in multiple ways too.
