Whether you have a busy Festive Season with lots of invites, or you are mostly low key, one of my wardrobe items for Winter and Christmas, has to be a pair of velvet jeans. I discovered this Winter wardrobe basic about 4 years ago and have included them every year since in my Winter capsule wardrobe. Prior to that I would usually have velvet trousers in my wardrobe and though I still think there is a place for them, velvet jeans, for me give you betters cost per wear.
Key wardrobe Items for Winter and Christmas – Velvet Jeans
I will definitely be including a pair of velvet jeans in the upcoming Winter and Christmas capsule wardrobe, but I thought I would give you a roundup now, before all the best ones sell out.
None of us want to have a wardrobe full of party wear “just in case” but equally we don’t want to have to be running out at the last minute to buy and not really being happy with what we have bought. A few key pieces will make life so much easier when you are short on time and already frazzled with all the Christmas preparation. Often the last thing we think about in the run up to Christmas is ourselves. Which is why I planned the Winter event, so that you can take a day out and treat yourself as well as get some tips on what to wear and how to look fabulous, whether you are partying or not. (I have also just added some couples tickets with a discount, if you want to bring a girl friend along)
So – Velvet jeans, why am I raving about them? Firstly they are the perfect dress up, dress down piece. Smarter than blue jeans but still ok to wear with a sweater and boots. Wear them to the office on Christmas jumper day, for festive drinks with a pretty top, with a teddy Bear coat for a Carol Service and even with some sparkle for a relaxed Christmas lunch.
