How to Spring Clean Your Wardrobe Ready for your Spring Capsule Wardrobe

The start of a new season is the perfect time to spring clean your wardrobe to prepare it for your new season capsule wardrobe. It’s a job that I love doing, although I know many women hate it and put it off for as long as possible. I however, love rediscovering what I packed away from last year and working out how I can update it this season with new colours and styles.

Rather than write a very long blog post I have created a “Spring Clean your Wardrobe Tips Booklet” which you can download below (you will be emailed with the link) and then keep to refer back to.

Before you get on to that though you will want to be prepared, so here are some suggestions for what you will need to carry out your spring clean.

      • Black sacks – one for recycling/rubbish, one for donations
      • A free standing rail if you have one or somewhere to hang anything you want to sell so that it doesn’t get too creased

      • Cedar balls – to prevent moths attacking your precious clothes
      • Storage solutions – consider drawer dividers, trays for jewellery, build your own kits, vacuum bags and hooks

      • Hangers – banish all wire hangers and replace with the right ones for the job – see below

You could also add some music and a glass of something chilled to help the process along!

Don’t forget to download your tips booklet (scroll back up to the big pink button) which tells you how to decide what to keep. Then you are ready to start creating your Spring capsule wardrobe or alternatively you could get me to do it for you.

Happy Easter to you and your family, Maria.
I am so happy to hear spring has arrived. My husband and I recently cruised the Sea of Cortez, whale watching. We met several lovely couples from London that were so enjoying the winter warmth while dreading the thought of heading back home to lingering weather.

I’ll tell you a little about us, my husband and I are retired, living in the coastal zone of Southern California. My wardrobe objective is to create a sporty chic, casual, season-less wardrobe. The tricky part is utilizing the slightly darker winter colors during the remainder if the year. I have a medium color tone, petite sizing, so wearing a white top with brown pants (for example) just doesn’t work for me.

You have a unique way of featuring colors and hopefully, by learning from you, my wardrobe will take care if itself. If ever I am in the United Kingdom you can bet I’ll make an appointment with you.

Thank you for sharing your passion and knowledge so graciously.

    A faithful fan,
