If you don’t work in an office, you might think you don’t need a suit. But they can be incredibly versatile for work, weekends and evenings. So here are my tips on how to get great cost per wear from a suit.
First choose something a little more interesting than a plain navy or black suit – although these do work as well. Perhaps a colour or unusual weave or fabric. For my example below I have chosen a suit in a Pine Green which works really well for Winter and Christmas.
Make sure that it is in a style that is classic, or if it is a little more unusual, that you can see yourself wearing it for years to come. I think that you will get great cost per wear from a trouser suit, this doesn’t work so well with a skirt. The trousers could be slim or wide legged, whichever is better for your body shape and personal style.
How to get great cost per wear from a suit – outfit ideas
Starting with wearing the two pieces together. The first option is the obvious one, for work. My second outfit shows it for evening and would be a great option for changing it from office to party.
Next the pieces split up for 2 casual looks.
And finally the two pieces split for more dressy outfits.
Have you considered adding a suit to your wardrobe? I hope this demonstrates that even if you don’t need one for work you can still get great cost per wear from a suit.
