This weekend is International Women’s Day and there are lots of events that you can take part in to celebrate. I’ve decided to celebrate those women who are blazing a trail in senior management and in the Board Room by creating a capsule wardrobe just for you (and those who are climbing the ladder behind you).
As a female executive you may be surrounded by men in dark suits but that doesn’t mean you have to compromise your femininity, in fact all the more reason to get yourself noticed. You want to be remembered for your brains, ability to do the job and attention to detail and that means having impeccable style and always “looking the part”.
Your wardrobe should be a level above anyone who works for you, so although Hobbs and LK Bennett do fabulous business wear, if your team are wearing their clothes you should be wearing what they aspire to. It doesn’t mean labels and “IT” bags for the sake of it, but it should include beautiful tailoring and chic styling. Think of your wardrobe as an investment in your career, because it really is.
So this beautiful executive wardrobe includes labels like Armani Collezioni, Stella McCartney, Maxmara and Hugo Boss, all brands that produce the kind of styling that will make you stand out as the boss.
It is a 25 piece capsule wardrobe including accessories and I have created 5 work weeks of outfits covering business smart and business casual with some less formal outfits for casual Fridays.
Orange dress // Stripe dress // Navy dress // Cream jacket // Navy jacket // Blue print jacket // Blue trousers // Navy trousers // Stone skirt // Print blouse // Orange knit // Cream Cardigan // Blue silk top // Navy/Ivory print top // Orange/Ivory print blouse // Navy top // Blue bag // Blue shoes // Scarf // Navy bag // Navy Shoes // Taupe bag // Taupe shoes // Orange necklace // Blue necklace //
And the outfits for 5 weeks without wearing the same one twice!
You can use this to create your own capsule wardrobe – or get me to do it for you to suit your colouring, body shape and your business role. Find out more here.
