City Break Holiday Capsule Wardrobe

This year instead of creating a holiday capsule wardrobe for you to buy, I have decided to do a series of blog posts that anyone can access. Plus I am going to be creating holiday capsule for different types of holiday. Coming up soon you will see my own beach holiday capsule wardrobe, but this week it’s the turn of the city break holiday capsule wardrobe. By the way, you can still buy the Spring capsule wardrobe, completely done for you capsule in two colour ways.

City Break Holiday Capsule Wardrobe Pieces

For this holiday capsule wardrobe I have used a very simple colour scheme of red and white pieces and prints incorporating the two colours.

I’ve incorporated some trends; cat eye sunglasses, a white denim jacket and a basket bag and included pieces that can be dressed up or down. So if you want to go to a smart restaurant in the evening you have various options including a gorgeous jumpsuit. Wear the shimmery top or the white broderie top in the evening with any of the trousers to dress them up. Equally you can dress down the jumpsuit with the trainers and denim jacket.

If red isn’t for you, use the pieces for inspiration and choose your own colour scheme. There are 12 pieces plus accessories and I’ve created 16 outfits, enough for two weeks without duplicating. You could easily swap out some of the red pieces and add another colour or add a second neutral; navy would be a classic colour combination.

    Hi Maria,
I love this post! You always create such inspiring outfits. I think your idea to blog post different types of holiday capsules is a timely one as we come into the holiday season. I will be waiting with excitement to view your own holiday capsule and am sure it will be received and appreciated by us all. Your blog posts are the first messages I open when I check my emails. You make my day .

Much love and thanks for all you do and have a wonderful holiday.

    Kind regards Anne

Maria, this is a much better idea to post different types of holiday capsule wardrobes rather then the complete one. Brilliant and loving the red and white

Hi Karen, Thank you, I thought it made sense to give more variety. Have you got a holiday planned? I have my beach capsule coming and I am also going to do a cruise one. xx

Maria, your blog post couldn’t have arrived at a better time. I’m off on a city break for 4 days next week and I have been inspired by your outfits. I’ve chosen navy as a substitute for red (only because I don’t have many pieces in red) and am adding tops in white and off white. I’m not taking many shoes but have taken on board your advice about metallics that I can dress up or down, so one pair of silver sandals is going in the case. Packing is so easy because I just follow your suggestions. Thank you so much for your on-line advice about style and putting together outfits. You make everything seem so easy!
