How to Go From Desk to Party With A Few Simple Changes

If you work in an office it’s that time of year for business related parties where often you will be going straight from desk to party or dinner. If you don’t want to take a complete change of clothes in to work with you, I have some suggestions of how you can adapt what you wear in the day into a party ready outfit. You will need to take additional accessories with you and some makeup to retouch and perhaps add a bit of sparkle. But most of what I am suggesting here will fit into a tote or small holdall that can be left in the office when you head out to party.

How to go from desk to party – Swap to Velvet

How to go from desk to party, LK Bennett velvet trousers, bag and tweed jacket, Boden embroidered shoes

Tweed jacket // Navy trousers // Tote Bag // Shoes // Camisole // Velvet trousers // Necklace // Velvet bag // Shoes //

My first option includes a Tweed jacket which is already a little dressy with its grosgrain bow. Wear a pretty camisole underneath which you can keep hidden during the day. To head out to the party swap your tailored trousers for a gorgeous velvet pair, your plain courts for embroidered shoes and add a velvet bag and necklace. The mix of textures with the tweed jacket and velvet trousers makes this look feel luxurious.

How to go from desk to party – Remove Your Jacket

Jacket // Jumpsuit // Navy tote // Green courts // Necklace // Belt // Bag // Mules //

During the day with your jacket done up, no-one will know that it isn’t trousers you are wearing, but a jumpsuit. Just remove your jacket and swap out your accessories to add a bit of sparkle.

How to go from desk to party – Swap a Dress for Separates

Jacket // Dress // Earrings // Tote bag // Bow courts // Camisole // Skirt // Necklace // Bronze bag // Bronze shoes //

My final option again uses a dressy jacket, this time toned down with a tailored navy dress and accessories for the day. For the evening swap the dress for a shimmering skirt and camisole. I’ve used a mixture of golds and bronze perfect for wearing over Christmas, but this jacket, skirt and top combination would work for Summer occasions too. And you know I like great cost per wear!
