Look at the colours in your colour palette, then for nudes and softer lip colours look for lipsticks similar to the lighter browns, pinks or peaches. For reds and deeper colours, look at the reds, deeper pinks and plum or burgundy shades.

I wear colours from the Deep and the Soft palettes and I have a warm skin tone. I don’t often wear a nude lip colour, but if I did I would choose a soft pinky brown or a peach tone. My reds are warm from Brick Red through to a stronger deep True Red. Terracotta and orangey browns work well with the greens and yellows in my palette and when I am wearing the deep plums (as I am above) I opt for a deeper Plum Red.

Here are some examples for each of the colour dominants. I have shown a softer or lighter colour with one of the colours from your palette and a red to go with a red from your palette…

Look for soft pinks, peaches and nude lipsticks for every day. Then a red from your palette to wear with reds or for evenings. Lights can look stunning with a light clear red lip.

With Deep colouring, you will always look better with a definite lip colour. Nudes can be a bit flat on you, so for days when you don’t want to wear much makeup choose a deeper pink nude like the one above. Your reds are deep and dramatic and will look fabulous on you.

For Warm colouring avoid anything too pink. Look for peach tones and soft brown nudes and for reds make sure they are warm, look for a Brick Red or Tomato Red.

Cool colouring needs a more pink toned nude or any of the pretty oinks in your palette. For reds, look for a blue toned red, like a raspberry.

Even though you have Soft colouring, you will still look better with some lipstick. Opt for a nude tone close to your lip colour or choose a soft pink or peach from your palette. Choose a True Red for evenings and if you don’t want anything too strong, choose a sheer colour rather than a very pigmented one.

Brights look fabulous with bright lipstick! However, if you aren’t used to wearing too much lip colour look for a bright colour in a sheer finish. For daytime choose the clear pinks from your platte and for evenings (or day) opt for a clear bright Poppy Red.
