I have been trying some new products lately, some intentionally and some I found while buying others. So here is a roundup of my new in beauty products and what I think of them.
The first product I wanted to try, because there was so much hype about it was Benefit’s BADgal Bang Mascara. Sadly I wasn’t one of the bloggers they took to the Maldives to launch it! I have not had much makeup fro Benefit in the past and now I wonder why. This mascara is definitely worth the hype. As they describe it; “36 hour full blast volumising mascara creates massive volume without weighing down lashes. The gravity defying formula contains aero particles, one of the lightest known materials derived from space technology.” I have never had better lashes, they look amazing with this mascara. Try it and see.
The next item was a free gift with purchase with the mascara, so one I found purely by chance. What a missed opportunity if I hadn’t! Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer is full coverage but creamy so it doesn’t cake or sit in fine lines and really does brighten (my issue, not really bags just dark circles)
On the same shopping trip, as an aside, I asked the incredibly helpful assistant about brows. There are a few naturally highlighted ones creeping in. She did one eye with this brow pencil and again amazing results. It is really natural and fine so you can simply draw in brows where there are gaps and darken any grey ones.
Next up another product getting a lot of attention is Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Hollywood Flawless Filter’. A foundation, primer and highlighter in one, it’s infused with smoothing polymers and finely milled powders that blur fine lines and illuminate the skin. As I had read so much about this product I went to my local Charlotte Tilbury counter and asked about it. The assistant was again really helpful and knowledgeable. There was no pressure to buy, in fact she gave me 3 samples to try so I didn’t actually buy it. But having tried the samples I have now ordered it. You can wear it alone, or under foundation. If you want a gorgeous fresh glow then this product is a must. Designed to give you the glow that a photo editing App would, it’s definitely one I will be using from now on.
Finally for this review is the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. I have been using this for a while now and although it says it has a visible difference, because I was using several new products I wasn’t sure it was this one that was making the difference. What I did notice was when I stopped using it. I was trying a different night cream so put this one on hold and only the other day came back to it. Then I noticed a difference and realised that this was the product that was doing the magic. My skin definitely looks smoother and clearer after using it again for the last few nights. It is pricey but a little goes a long way. Don’t be put off by the bright blue colour it’s the Blue Tansy it contains which has antibacterial, antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties to soothe the skin and minimize redness.
Have you tried any of these products, or do you have others you would recommend?
