A Warm and Stylish Winter Capsule Wardrobe

Winter capsule wardrobe

It’s always tricky in January knowing what to wear. It’s cold and we need to wrap up, but don’t want to look bulked up, or like we have thrown on a mismatch of pieces. With a Winter Capsule Wardrobe though, you can still look smart and stay warm. Here are my current winter capsule wardrobe pieces and 3 new items I am planning to add, giving plenty of options. I’ve layered knits and a wool wrap or the coat for really cold days. For milder days or smarter occasions the blouses layer with a knit, the poncho or the coat.

If you work with a colour palette, carefully adding new pieces that work in the palette, you will have more outfit options.

For my winter capsule wardrobe I have used neutrals of tan/camel and grey and the main accent colour is berry/burgundy. I have then added in two printed blouses that incorporate grey and tan and one spring sweater in a pink to brighten the capsule and transition it into Spring.

By the way, I had the burgundy boots for Christmas and despite being quite high they have a really comfortable block heel (I love the touch of sparkle they add to a daytime outfit and they are perfect for evenings too)
