Autumn Must Haves to Add to Your Capsule Wardrobe – Jackets

The new season is here and whilst I am sad to say goodbye to summer, the thought of cosy knits, boots and new colours is something I look forward to every year. I will be keeping you up to date with all the new colours and trends of the season starting with three jackets to buy now.

Tweed Jackets

Tweed is an Autumn favourite and this year it’s no different. But don’t just think about tweed for weekends in the countryside, bring it into the office with a tailored dress or pick up on another huge trend this season and wear it with velvet. Mix textures by adding soft wool knits and scarves and patent or suede shoes.

Knit Jackets

The knit jacket can be smart or casual. Wear it on a more relaxed work day with a dress or skirt and add some fun accessories or dress down at the weekend with jeans for shopping, but keep the look polished with loafers and a smart tote.

Biker Jackets

The faithful biker jacket never dates. Now though, it comes in leather and suede and in a multitude of colours. Wear it with a midi skirt and knee boots for a change.┬áIf you wear it with jeans add some chic accessories – hats are big for the winter season and are great for disguising bad hair days!

Add one or all of these versatile styles to your Autumn capsule wardrobe. A knit jacket is on my shopping list for the Autumn as it is a good alternative to a structured jacket for those like me, with a full bust. Do any of the options appeal to you?

I’ve seen a blue biker jacket in very soft suede that I would love to own – the brand is either Sandro or Claudie Perlot, can’t remember which. Also like the Job Browns’ vintage version!
