What to Wear Now – 4 Stylish Summer Outfits

Summer outfit inspiration, how to wear, crop trousers, white jeans, wide leg trousers, maxi skirtAt last the weather has turned warm for us in the UK (although we won’t pack away the rain wear!) so what to wear now? As I am writing this I’m wearing crop white jeans – in fact some form of crop or wide leg trouser is an easy summer uniform for me, which I can dress up or down. From jeans to capris, linen or viscose wide leg trousers or a more tailored culotte, just adding a summery top, sandals and maybe a necklace I’ve got a quick outfit. Each summer I will probably buy one or two new pairs and retire those from last year that are looking a little worn.

My favourite places to buy include:

Boden – they do great crop trousers, jeans and linen in a wide range of colours, lengths and sizes from 6 to 22.

Wallis – surprisingly good crop stretch trousers at really good prices, they do a similar style every year, these are the ones I’m wearing this year. They come in neutrals of Black, Navy and a Biscuit colour, perfect for adding coloured or patterned tops.

Hobbs – For wide leg and linen trousers and coloured jeans.

Here are three chic summer trouser outfits and one skirt option inspired by Pinterest, which I have recreated to give you some inspiration:

Summer outfits, how to wear white jeans,

First up white jeans as worn by one of the lovely blogging friends I met in Dallas, Sheree (check out her stylish blog Shesheshow). It’s a simple but really stylish outfit which is all down to the carefully chosen accessories, without which it would be just jeans and a Tee. No excuse for being ageist about white jeans either as the gorgeous Sheree is in her 60s, proving that style isn’t an age it’s an attitude!

Summer outfit inspiration, how to wear wide leg print trousers,

I love a wide leg trouser in the summer months. If you choose viscose or silk you get that beautiful drape and they keep you cool. Viscose is a brilliant summer fabric and there are two important things you need to know about it. Firstly it is natural, it’s made of wood pulp. Secondly when you wash viscose it can come out of the machine looking like it’s shrunk badly. All you need to do is let it dry and it will gradually start to grow back to it’s original shape, then steam iron it to bring it fully back.

For a smarter look how about a pair of tailored culottes? Swap out the kimono jacket for a blazer and these can take you to work too.

Finally one skirt option. It’s black I know but you could just as easily do it in Navy. A simple outfit is made elegant with a neat bun which shows off the one extravagant touch, the earrings. Tan accessories are timeless and work with all your summer neutrals; Black, Navy, White and even Grey.
