How to Wear the ‘New” Neutral

One of the questions discussed a little while ago on the Style Club Facebook Group (find out how to join below) was “when are you too old for leopard print?” We agreed that there isn’t an age limit as long as you aren’t heading down the “Bet Lynch” road! In fact one of my favourite sayings is “Style isn’t an age it’s an attitude” and fashion editors have decreed that animal print is now in fact a neutral. The easiest way to wear it if you are nervous is on your feet and it’s easy to find on both the High Street and in designer collections. From flats to sky high stilettos you can find something that will work in your wardrobe.

I’ve chosen a range of styles and heel heights and given you some ideas of how to style leopard print shoes in your wardrobe.

Jacket // Stripe top // Culottes // Bag // Block heel shoes // Red scarf // Sweatshirt // Boyfriend jeans // Bag // Slides //

As it’s now a neutral you can mix it with other prints like the eternal favourite Breton stripe, it just adds that unexpected touch. Dress it down for weekends as a pair of slides with boyfriend jeans and then add some colour to finish off the look.

If you have more plentiful funds available the Charlotte Olympia Kitty shoes are a fun addition to an otherwise classic look. And nothing exudes luxury more than a pair of leopard heels with the signature Louboutin red soles so add texture with a butter soft leather jacket and on trend patchwork suede bag – simple, elegant and chic.

Here’s how I’m wearing mine, with faux leather (now that’s another question…):
