As I look through the latest deliveries across online stores the one item I keep getting drawn to is the print trouser, especially those of the wide leg variety. My preference is for a fluid fabric because they suit my curvy shape, but there are plenty of straighter capri styles too.
I bought a wide leg pair in a navy and white print two years ago from the Jaeger sale that I absolutely love and that have just gone back into my warmer weather capsule wardrobe. But it doesn’t stop me being tempted with another pair. They can be worn casually during the day with a simple T-shirt and flat sandals (and a fabulous floppy hat if it’s sunny) or dressed up for the evening with a pair of wedges and a more dressy top. Add a pendant and a pair of statement earrings and you are ready for dinner at home or on holiday.
From the options below, of course my favourites just happen to be the most expensive three designer pairs! Having said that though, there is also a great option from Oasis at a fraction of the price and I do really like the white fern print pair (see I could happily have them all!)
Starting with the wide leg versions:
How to wear wide leg trousers for day and evening
If you have a tummy wear a wide leg with no waistband and a loose top. If you have broad shoulders a wide leg will balance them out.
Tapered print trousers:

Metallics look great for sunny days so don’t just save them for the evening, wear them for casual too.
If you are pear shaped choose a straight leg like the evening look above and the frill on the top’s shoulders will balance out your hips. Don’t be afraid to add some neon colour but keep everything else simple.
Capri style printed trousers:

Capris work well for day and evening and because they can be worn slightly cropped you can wear them with flats and high heels.
