Capsule wardrobe Essentials for January

It’s been a cold, wet and blustery start to the year and these are my capsule wardrobe essentials that ensure I stay warm, dry and still stylish.

I can’t survive without cashmere sweaters when I’m sitting working at my desk (you suddenly realise that because you haven’t moved for some time you are freezing!) and who isn’t happy to buy one like this from Jaeger in the sale?

A bright coat is the perfect antidote to dull days – my red Jaeger one was a Christmas present from Hubby (after I fell in love with it when I put it in a client’s capsule wardrobe, that’s the danger of doing this job!) There aren’t many left but there are lots more bright coat options here.

Long boots to tuck leggings and skinny jeans into keep your legs and feet dry – I love this classic style from Carvella that sit high on the knee.

Animal print and cashmere what a perfect combination and in my must have accessory the scarf.

I absolutely love this clutch/shoulder bag from Coach. Another gift from hubby (didn’t he do well?) although mine is in the now sold out Bronze leather, but the black is simple and classic perfection.

Just in case, snow boots from Hunter. But just as good for wearing to the stables to visit our boys.

Forget about hat hair, when it’s cold you can’t beat a cashmere beanie for keeping your ears and head warm.

After all the Christmas excesses a pair of Not Your Daughters Jeans are far more forgiving than your regular skinnies.

When I’m not wearing my lovely red coat and want something cosier and more practical this Barbour Polar Quilt jacket is just the thing.
