I’m an avid reader when I have the time and I’m always happy to be given a book, both fiction and non fiction. My favourite non fiction books are style and beauty guides so I thought I’d list a few that I have enjoyed as they would make lovely Christmas gifts for any women in your life – or for you to add to your own list.
I love Nina Garcia’s books. They are full of fabulous illustrations and quotes – this one tells you which 100 items you should have in your wardrobe.
As editor of Grazia magazine Paula Reed has picked up countless tips on style over the years which she shares in this book.
From one of my favourite glossy magazines this book is full of gorgeous pictures of stylish celebrities of different ages showing you how to wear the key wardrobe pieces.
Another book coming from a magazine, this time InStyle. One of several publications from InStyle this one is packed with information on how to build your wardrobe and what to choose to create your own style
Rachel Zoe has had some bad publicity about her clients but as a top celebrity stylist she is full of tips that we “ordinary” women can use to look and feel good.
I haven’t actually read this one yet, but as the woman who headed up Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon has a great story to tell so this one is on my list of “want to reads”.
This chunky little book is for all women who want to age gracefully.
Another one for those of us who have left our thirties behind. Full of really useful information on how to dress as a gorgeous forty something and beyond.
Written by the co-author of the Chic Simple books (which I absolutely love and can highly recommend if you can still get hold of them – beautiful images and outfits that just don’t date) this is again a book for women who want to make the most of themselves in their forties and older. Not surprising that it is full of timeless ideas to re-imagine who you want to be.
I had to include at least one of Bobbi Brown’s books. From the woman who taught us how to apply makeup to look like us only prettier. Add some of her cosmetics or a few makeup brushes and this would be a wonderful Christmas gift for a cosmetics lover.
And I have many more! But I think these are ones I know I would be pleased to receive (if I didn’t already own them). Leave a comment below if you have any books you think other readers would like.
