If you are going away over Christmas, what to wear may be at the bottom of your list of things to worry about after packing presents and making travel arrangements, so a mini capsule wardrobe is the answer to any dressing dilemmas.
Taking a versatile capsule that includes some smart casual wear and some evening sparkle doesn’t mean a ton of luggage – the key is in having pieces that will dress up or down depending on which events you are attending. Of course if you are heading to the slopes or the opposite extreme of the beach you will need some outfits specific to those locations. But if you are travelling to stay at family or friends with a similar climate then typically you will need a few evening outfits, something dressy to wear on Christmas day, a comfortable outfit for shopping outings, walks or trip to church for a carol service and some lovely nightwear and luggage.
I’ve put together 2 capsules – this first one is my dream Christmas capsule wardrobe if money wasn’t an issue and the second one, which will follow in a separate post, is a more budget friendly option.
So the capsule wardrobe pieces:
This capsule is luxury all the way with cashmere, sheepskin and silk, embellished tops, brocade skirt, velvet trousers and a knock out dress, as well as some Jimmy Choos.
And for bedtime a beautiful pair of pyjamas and a luxurious robe for Christmas morning. All packed into the new travel range from Liberty.
And plenty of outfit options to cover all events (you may just want to add a pair of wellies or more sturdy boots for your Boxing day walk)
First the jeans in a deep festive red dressed down with the cashmere jumper and Gilet or up with the silk blouse or beaded jumper.
The deep blue velvet trousers will do drinks, dinner or evening depending which top and shoes you pair them with.
The beautiful skirt can be down graded from party to lunch with the cashmere jumper and Gilet or made party ready with the silk blouse.
And finally when full on glamour is required this stunning dress will help you make an entrance.
So what do you think? There are several items here that I could find space for in my wardrobe.
