I love a multi-tasking wardrobe piece and this season there are three that would work well in my wardrobe. The print relaxed trouser, the Boho (or Folk) jacket and the easy summer dress.
On days when you just want something comfortable to wear the print trouser can be thrown on with a T-shirt and a pair of flat sandals or one of this summer’s big shoe trends, the espadrille or slider. (Personally I’m not fond of the slider shoe but I haven’t tried them and can see that for comfort they would be appealing.) The first look below would be a perfect travel outfit, to wear out shopping or even to throw over your swimsuit on holiday.
For the evening these trousers work really well with a high cage style sandal. Just add a bright clutch and a little embellishment on your top and you are dressed for an evening out at home or on holiday.
I mentioned the Boho or Folk jacket in my “how to wear the latest trends post” and they are popping up everywhere from Monsoon, to East and even M&S. This time I’ve chosen a monochrome version and dressed it up with a full skirt and down with jeans and a splash of colour. (I love the colour block heels here too)
Finally the relaxed dress. It can be worn to the office and would work on a hot summer day, it just needs smartening up with a tailored jacket and pointed courts. For the weekend or on holiday wear with flat coloured sandals and a matching tote.
By the way I also love these versatile tote bags (shown above in green and yellow) but also available in a reversible gold/silver, pink, white and ivory at just £49!
As always it’s the accessories that add the versatility. Will you be trying any of these summer pieces?
