Are you one of those women who dread buying swimwear? Me too! My dilemma is bikini vs swimsuit and whether it has enough support for a large bust. This year I have decided to treat myself to new swimwear and having trawled through a number of swimwear collections there is actually quite a lot out there.
If you have issues about getting into swimwear on holiday and wondering whether you can somehow slip into the pool without removing your sarong have a read of the post Caroline wrote on how to pull of beach confidence on the Capsule Wardrobes blog. She is absolutely right that we spend far too much time worrying about what we look like rather than just relaxing and enjoying our holiday.
In the meantime here are a few suggestions for swimwear to suit different body shapes:
For those who are slim with a small bust, look for padded tops, stripes and ruffles.
For curvy figures and a large bust look for swimwear or bikinis that come in cup sizes and have under wiring or good support.
Pear shapes should choose a swimsuit or bikini with any detailing on the top half to draw the eye up and away from the hip area.
If you are conscious of your tummy most ranges now do swimwear with tummy panels – Miraclesuit is probably the best known but even Tescos do swimsuits with tummy reducing panels if you can’t stretch to one of these.
And finally take some glamorous coverups with you – a Kaftan, beach dress or sarong, add a pair of sunglasses and a big hat and forget about your body hangups!
