Wardrobe Classic Updated – The Blazer

One of the most versatile items in a capsule wardrobe is the blazer. Dressed up for work or down with jeans this wardrobe classic earns it’s place on a daily basis. This season you will find the classic blazer on the catwalk – often worn with shorts – and on the high street.

So how does the real woman make it look modern? Simple – below are a few examples of how to wear:

Option one – the “preppie” look – think Ralph Lauren all American, but updated with a flared jean, high wedges and a bright bag in seasonal trend colour red.

Option two – seasonal trend monochrome and if you are brave enough (and have good legs) with shorts. Keep the heel height low to medium and add some fake tan before baring you legs. Follow the age old rule if you are showing leg keep your top half covered.

Option three – Another trend covered here – the print, crop trouser. And of course a navy and white combination never dates in the Spring.

Finally if you want a high fashion look go for the pattern blazer and trouser (as shown top right at Mulberry) pattern blazer and shorts or soft drape trouser and blazer all as shown below from my-wardrobe.com:
