Pretty Pastels

As I sit looking at the rain out of my office window I’m hoping that Easter will bring with it some brighter weather. And what better to put you in the mood than some pretty pastels. Last summer we saw them on the catwalk and this year they have appeared again. Whilst I’m not sure we are ready for them yet, better to be prepared for when the sun does show itself.

There are pastels that everyone can wear but you need to wear them in the right way for your colouring:

Light colouring – pastels are perfect for your delicate fair complexion and hair.

Deep colouring – don’t wear pastels on their own as they will be too wishy washy, mix with a darker colour like navy or chocolate brown.

Warm colouring – go for greens, turquoise, yellow and soft corals and avoid the pinks.

Cool colouring – You need contrast so mix with a stronger shade of the same colour like navy with a baby blue or pink but avoid yellow.

Bright colouring – You also need contrast mix with a dark grey, black or navy and go for the slightly brighter versions like turquoise.

Soft colouring – you look best with tone on tone colours so pastels work well for you mix with neutrals of taupe and stone.

Here are a few of my favourites available now:
