If you live on the South coast you may already know of Stanwells the designer women’s wear shop based in Lymington in Hampshire. If not the good news is you can buy online too. Stanwells first opened in 1996 and since then have built a reputation for carrying a stylish mix of designer and contemporary brands. The buying team are constantly sourcing new and emerging brands to refresh its fashion profile.
Spring stock is starting to arrive in store and I’ve chosen a couple of outfits based on the “Spring Pastels” and “Monochrome” themes for the season. The first is a casual look perfect if like me you work a lot from home or equally good for a shopping trip and the second is a smarter but still easy look which I would wear for meetings if I didn’t need to look “corporate’.
For my first look I’ve chosen a Jade stripe T shirt from Velvet by Graham & Spencer with MIH Jade skinny jeans and layered a Knitted oversize top from Duffy made from a cotton linen mix with a touch of cashmere to keep out the early Spring chill, finally I’ve chosen a gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff Bonnie Satchel in super soft leather, it’s a look that’s laid back but still pulled together.
For my second look I’ve chosen a smarter pair of Nobody Cult Straight Black jeans with a high rise that holds you in (what most of us want!) What makes this outfit special is the investment Cream Tweed jacket from Philosophy, I love it for it’s versatility worn as shown here or over a tailored shift for the office it will earn it’s cost per wear in your capsule wardrobe. I’ve finished the outfit with a Cashmere scarf from Crumpet (of course – scarf-a-holic) and fabulous Statement bag from Diane Von Furstenberg which, with it’s raffia top, gives it a summer feel despite being black.
I think I will have to take a day trip to visit the store but in the meantime will be making use of their online shop. What do you think?
