5 Pieces to Add to your Spring Wardrobe

If you are itching to update your wardrobe with some new Spring 2013 trends that you can wear now here are my suggestions from the latest arrivals:

5-pieces for Spring 2013 capsule wardrobe

I’ve already mentioned how big stripes are going to be and this Stripe tunic dress from Phase Eight is rather clever. Because the stripes create the illusion of curves if you don’t have any. If you do they work with your curves. Wear now with leggings and shoe boots, or tights and knee high boots. When the weather gets warmer a pair of flat white or navy sandals will give an easy casual look.

Brights are big again this summer from turquoise to coral to pink – this Pink Asymetric jumper from Baukjen is an easy way to add Spring to your wardrobe now, layered over a T-shirt or tailored shirt with jeans or a pencil skirt.

Yellow is a tricky colour for a lot of us but it will be seen in the shops this spring/summer so if it’s not one of your best colours how about using it in an accessory like this gorgeous yellow tote by Collection at John Lewis It makes me think of daffodils and you can’t get more Spring than that.

One of your Summer sandal options is the gladiator but unlike previous seasons this one is high heeled. I couldn’t choose between these four optionsĀ  so I thought I’d include them all. Once you can bare your toes they’d look great with the next item the crop trouser. Left to right all from LK Bennett. Black Salinas riveted sandal, Zebra sandal, Pink blush leather sandal and Snake print leather sandal.

You’ll see lots of sharp trouser suits this Spring too – with the updated trouser shape of the skinny crop. A pair in a neutral colour will work for a more casual work day with heels and a blazer or wear with a T-shirt and flats for the weekend. Hannah slim trouser from Fenn Wright Manson

There will be more Spring style tips coming over the next few weeks to help you interpret the catwalk trends so make sure you are signed up to the Friday Bulletin so you don’t miss any.
