Have you noticed how dresses are becoming more and more popular? I’ve had three conversations this week about how great it is to just pull out a dress in the morning, add a couple of accessories and you’re done. Of course our lovely friends at The Fold know this which is why they base their collection around perfect dresses that take you from office to dinner. I love to see a working woman who has the confidence to shed the “battle armour” of a suit and express her femininity.
As Spring stock starts to filter into the shops (perfect for this weekend when we are expecting heavy snow!) I’ve had a hunt around and picked out a few I think will be worth getting early, with some of the key trends for Spring/Summer 2013. Just add a jacket if you need to be formal, or a knit if not, heels and a tote.
Bright colour makes a return for Spring/Summer so this print jersey dress from LK Bennett is on trend without being over the top. If the colours are too bright for you it also comes in blue (featured here).
The next two dresses are from The Fold, the Bond Street is simple yet elegant with it’s suede detail and a neutral colour that works with a bright, black, red and navy so versatile and endless options for accessorising. Every woman should have a red dress in her wardrobe for those day she wants to assert herself in the office or charm through dinner and the Draycott is such a flattering shape with it’s draping. With The Fold dresses you can ensure a perfect fit, they will happily make you a dress with the top a different size from the bottom!
This Colourblock dress from Fenn Wright Manson is great on curves and wearing a dark colour below the waist gives the illusion of smaller hips, I love the navy and emerald colour combination too.
Blue is one of the big colours for Spring 2013, in all shades. This bright little A line dress by Joseph at my-wardrobe.com is so pretty, pair with navy to make it more sober for the office or add another bright, silver or white for evenings.
This Stripe dress from Boden ticks lots of boxes. Nautical navy and white are always great for Spring, but this season stripes are going to be huge, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana were just three of the labels showing bold stripes. With it’s optical illusion stripes this dress is both flattering and feminine.
Dresses on the catwalk from Donna Karan, Dolce & Gabbana and Diane Von Furstenberg.
