What to Wear – The Sequined Dress

Christmas is the perfect time to bring out this party piece. There are plenty to choose from and this dress will earn it’s place in your wardrobe over the years. Buy one in a simple style that suits your figure and colouring and it won’t date. Top tip – buy one during the sales, even if you don’t get to wear it this year there will be an occasion when you are grateful you have a sequin dress as part of your party capsule wardrobe.

Here are a few of my favourites from the current collections:

Top Row

If you have a good figure and great legs but don’t like your arms this first Gold dress from French Connection would be good for you, especially if you are warm in colouring. A classic shape with a forgiving drape across the tummy makes this Black dress from Baukjen a winner. Or how about a silver dress, also from Baukjenicon if you are fair in colouring, remove the sash if you have an apple shape figure or tie it to show off a waist. Next is a simple classic Little Black dress from Mint Velvet that won’t date.

Bottom Row

This Whistles sequin T shirt dress has a small sleeve but needs a good figure. For very light colouring this Cream sequin dress from Mint Velvet would look stunning and could be worn in the summer months as well.  Another dress with full on shimmer so again one for a good figure – the more shimmer the more you draw attention to that area! But if you’ve got it flaunt it in this dress by Michael Kors. This next Three band dress from French Connection is great if you want to wear black but keep it away from your face it would look fabulous on a redhead. Finally one for cool or dark colouring a berry coloured sequin dress from East.

Will you be adding a sequin dress to your party collection?
