What to Wear in the Cold – Hotsquash Warm Clothing

I was contacted a few weeks ago by the people at Hotsquash to introduce me to their innovative range of clothing. Made with hidden technology the two ranges cover warm clothing and cool clothing. They very kindly sent me a top from the warm collection to try and the timing couldn’t have been better with the first snow of the season greeting me as I left for the school run this morning!

My first impression of the brand is how good looking the clothing is. That may sound odd, but I had expected something a little like sports wear. The Flutter top I chose will be perfect for wearing over the festive season though. In a gorgeous deep ruby red (not as bright as the image on the site) this top will be perfect dressed up with jewellery for an evening out, under a jacket for a business meeting, or dressed down with a pair of the Hotsquash wide leg trousers for working at home. The fact that I can be warm but also be presentable at a moment’s notice is brilliant. I’ve worn my top several times already and can’t get over how soft and light weight the fabric is whilst still being really cosy.

All clothing above by Hotsquash, shoes and bags by L.K. Bennett.

If you like to know how things work here’s the science bit;
The fabric is inspired by nature, polar bears to be precise! Their fur has “hollow” hairs to keep them warm, the Hotsquash warm clothing mirrors this effect with engineered hollow-core fibres that trap air for greater insulation. The thermobuffering properties protect you from temperature changes, for example regulating your temperature if there is a chill. And if you do get too warm the clothing minimises odour with built-in anti-bacteria silver ions, how clever is that?

And for those of us who have homes, families and businesses to run they are also easy care – they dry fast and don’t need hot washes, tumble drying or ironing. Looking at my ironing basket I’m tempted to create a winter capsule wardrobe from Hotsquash!

I’m absolutely delighted with my top and will be ordering some of the socks for my daughters to wear to the stables and for me whilst I’m standing in the cold watching them ride.

If you have been used to wearing numerous bulky layers to keep warm I highly recommend you give Hotsquash a try. Their clothes give warmth without weight so you don’t have to go out looking like “Michelin man.”
