Following up from my recent post on work accessories and a discussion on LinkedIn it seems that one of the main problems we working women have is finding the right bag to carry our laptop or Ipad and all our daily necessities. Whilst there are plenty of laptop bags available in the shops I have to be honest it’s hard to find anything that isn’t boring black or masculine. So I am delighted to introduce you to a company I found a couple of years ago online; Knomo. At the time I purchased one of their tote/laptop bags in their sale and was both impressed with the service and the quality of the bag for the price.
Knomo create laptop-handbags, travel cases and tech accessories which through thoughtful design, including features such as a shock-absorbent foam lining and padded internal laptop compartments, cater for your everyday tech essentials whilst still working with your seasonal wardrobe. They are passionate about clever design, with internal pockets and compartments to organise your daily belongings and a unique ID number within each bag to help re-unite you with your knomo should it be misplaced (a brilliant idea and totally unexpected at this price range.)
Which working woman doesn’t want to carry just one bag that fits all of her every day essentials as well as her technology of choice? I know when I travelled on a weekly basis for work the dilemma was always my luggage – I had a small suitcase, laptop bag and handbag which of course meant if I was flying it couldn’t all go on board with me and the suitcase, which was cabin size, had to go in the hold. Plus they were all different brands, which isn’t a disaster but how luxurious to have them all co-ordinating.
Here are my picks of the latest collection from Knomo:
Firstly the Bayswater and Bloomsbury Collections which I think are my personal favourites. These collections include a useful expandable tote, which I am coveting in the cream colour for days out in London with my Ipad, compact laptop/Ipad sleeves as well as a variety of roller cases and carry on cases and bags.
Next there are two ranges of gorgeous leather bags, the Battersea range of soft leather totes or the Berkeley range of more structured bags, which would be perfect for City business women or more formal work environments.
And finally a new range, the Belgravia – and one I may have to indulge in as I have fallen in love with the little Annalee Iphone4 wristlet bag. I’ve been hunting around for a case since I upgraded my phone last month and this one is not just stylish but really practical too if you just want to go out with your phone, cash/credit cards and keys. Made from scotch-gaurded linen and in 3 colourways this collection is great for a more relaxed work environment.
The bags are all clearly marked with laptop sizes and prices range from £25 for a phone case (although there are currently some Nano cases at the bargain price of £8) to £265 for the largest suitcase.
As to my original bag, it’s still going strong but was donated to my Mum when she finally got herself a laptop and she was delighted with it.
