Want To Soften Your Sea of Black? How to Wear the New Neutrals

This is a special post inspired by a special person – my BFF. She is tall and elegant and has light delicate colouring (and is probably blushing like mad now x) BUT her wardrobe until recently was a sea of black! However, a few weeks ago she took the brave step of having a major de-black session. I have to say not only was it fun to help her but I also did rather well. Being a “deep” I got several new items for my wardrobe, and as she has great taste I was delighted 🙂

So… I wanted to point her – and you, if your wardrobe is full of black – in the right direction. This Spring/Summer is perfect for women who have light or soft colouring. In fact the Mulberry campaign sums it up, it’s sorbet and ice cream all round. And let’s face it if it’s Mulberry it can’t be wrong!

Hears how to wear soft neutrals and ice cream colours:

If you really can’t bear to go too light, why not try charcoal grey or navy with some of these softer colours.

Here are a few great pieces from the new Spring collection online at Pure who have done this trend in fantastic cottons, linens, silk and cashmere. I think it’s an expensive and very stylish look.

Finally, the face to go with these lovely Spring looks has to be by Chanel from House of Fraser, now

I know it’s turned freezing cold this week but hopefully this has made you optimistic about Spring.

And to my BFF – hope I found some colours you like X
