Your Best Christmas Red – What to Wear Over the Festive Season

If you are anything like me at Christmas, you take the time between Christmas and the New Year as a well earned rest. The days are spent relaxing, reading new books, being with the family and occasional visits from friends and relatives. This is the time when you want your wardrobe to be comfortable but still festive. The perfect solution is red and a bit of sparkle. Adding a red knit and lip to festive accessories and relaxed trousers means you can be comfortable but still look great when visitors arrive, whether they are expected or not.

Choosing your best red will bring a healthy glow to your face regardless of whether you have had too many late nights and relaxed palazzo pants are easy on the waistline after the excesses of Christmas lunch. If you are scared of wearing red it may just be that you haven’t found the one that suits you yet, because the right red will make every woman look fabulous. It is also a huge misconception that women with red hair can’t wear red, you can – a fiery, warm red will look stunning.

Below I have chosen a pair of palazzo pants (in a heavy jersey that keeps its shape) then added a red knit, accessories and lipstick colour (all lipsticks from Bobbi Brown) to suit your dominant colouring…

Hi Maria, Lovely article on Reds thank you, whilst I love the Burgundy red for my deep colouring the length of the jumper wasn’t very forgiving on the midriff area… LOL. However, whilst it may not be my best red I opted for the choice for the warm colouring in a brighter red & the length & cut of the jumper is perfect for hiding a bit of over indulgence at this time of year.. My Christmas Eve outfit is now sorted….. Merry Christmas. Best wishes Debbie X
