One of the most feminine of the Spring trends is soft tailoring in neutrals and pretty pastels. In fact if you want a pink jacket this is the season you will be spoiled for choice (see lots of options below). But tailoring isn’t just restricted to the work place, wear it at the weekends too or perhaps for an occasion – it’s perfect for a wedding. Split the pieces up to get the most cost per wear. Add one of these gorgeous blazers to casual trousers or jeans at the weekend or wear the trousers with a fine knit.
How to wear pastels to suit your colouring
For those with Light and Soft dominant colouring you can wear with other pastels and soft colours. For Warm colouring add yellow or choose one of the peach tones. For Bright and Cool colouring that needs contrast add a bright blue or stronger pink and for Deep colouring add one of your dark neutrals.

Three suits – the first a mint jacket and trousers on a budget. Add a floral top and pink accessories, including the new shape “grannie” shoes which are in most fashionista’s wardrobes this season. I haven’t tried them yet but they are reported to be incredibly comfortable and these in soft goat leather at just £49.99 certainly do look it.
For the second suit I’ve chosen the wide leg crop and added the other shoe trend of the season; mules. Crops do shorten the leg but adding a heel with a pointed toe will compensate.
The third option ticks the sleeveless jacket trend box, just add a pair of ankle strap shoes and a hat to stand out from the crowd.

Lose one of the pieces – for the Mint I’ve swapped the trousers for white jeans (another summer must have this year) for the other two I’ve removed the jackets and added a fine knit sweater, one for day and one for evening.
Will you be wearing soft tailoring this Spring? I am adding a pair of the wide leg crops to my wardrobe and a neutral jacket is such a useful item to have in your wardrobe for the summer months as it will smarten up any outfit.
