This week the Style Club Magazine for June has been published and in it I have created 4 holiday capsule wardrobes. I though I would share one of them with you here (if you want to see the other 3 though, one for a 5 Star resort, one on a budget and one for a city holiday you will need to subscribe to the Style Club)
If you are staying in the UK for your summer holiday this year – or you will be visiting us from overseas – you will need to pack for all weather eventualities. As those of us who do live here know we can have several seasons within one week! So you may have a few days of scorching sunshine followed by a heavy downpour and chilly winds.
The answer to this dilemma is layers and wet weather wear as well as shorts and swimwear. It doesn’t make packing easy so here is an example wardrobe you can use as a basis for creating your own (or I would love to do it for you) Include a lightweight rain coat, but if the forecast is looking good add a second sun dress or pair of shorts. I’ve also added a casual blazer to smarten the outfits up.
If you are taking children on your break you can still look chic as well as being practical.
I’ve included this season’s must have denim dress, chinos and boyfriend jeans and an on trend jumpsuit. Make it chic by including timeless accessories.
Day wear for sightseeing, lunches (cream teas!) and day trips:
For evenings in pubs or informal restaurants (you could add a 2nd smarter dress if you need it)
And just in case you are lucky enough to see the sunshine:
I’ve used predominantly neutrals for this wardrobe so you can adapt it with some of your own best colours in T-shirts and knitwear.
