If you are itching to buy into the new season as I am what should you be looking at?
I’ve already mentioned some of the new trends (colours – red, chocolate and blush) and I’m including red here because everyone should have red in their wardrobe!
Here it is on the catwalk with my 4 other suggestions; the chunky knit, winter florals, ruby (or claret or sangria) and the wrap.
Where to find them online and styling tips for how to wear:
Are you brave enough for the relaxed red suit? From Baukjen they’ve styled it for weekend with a simple white top and trainers.
Or how about a pair of boots (not made for walking!) Wear them with a dress or trousers for a fabulous night out. Or if you are that way inclined and like a bit of drama break them out for the daytime and see heads turn! If I could walk in them I would.
Mix your claret with navy, chocolate, black, blush, pine green – there’s plenty of choice this season but these are two of my personal favourites.
Let one piece do the talking – I’ve paired the skirt with a plain grey top and ankle boots so that the skirt makes the statement. Or with the dress a pair of timeless suede pumps is all you need.
Wear a cropped loose knit with a full skirt (covering two other trends with the florals and blush too – treble fashion maths!) Or a thicker knit with a slim bottom half, and there is plenty of leather to choose from this season too (chocolate and claret again!)
Don’t you love an all encompassing, cosy wrap? They are great for throwing over the shoulder in a nonchalant fashion. Wear with skinny jeans or as shown here leather leggings – let the wrap cover the bits you want to hide and make your legs look super slim. Or take inspiration from Ralph Lauren and wear one sophisticated colour from top to toe.
So there you are 5 key pieces and how to wear them – what will you be trying this season?
