As the last few days have finally delivered some brighter weather it seemed appropriate to take a look at some of the new – and very pretty – spring pieces arriving in the shops. I’ve already found a few pieces that I have added to my spring wishlist, especially on the shoe front! And despite the aforementioned weather spring stock does seem to be selling so probably best not to wait too long to buy.
I’ve chosen three pieces to focus on this week that you can start incorporating into your wardrobe if you are desperate to start thinking about wearing something other than wellington boots and raincoats.
Firstly shoes and in particular pointed flats. I mentioned them in my 9 must have staples blog and as more collections hit the shops they do seem to be the shoe of the season. Great for those of us that struggle with high heels, whilst still being feminine. If you’ve been out shopping you may also have noticed the metallic trend that is going on. I have fallen for a pair of J Crew silver flats but at £228 they are a little over budget. There is an equally gorgeous pair at LK Bennett that keep calling me back to drool, but if you want to buy into the trend without over spending I suggest you take a look at Boden who have done an exceptionally good interpretation.
Boden have made these lovely shoes in a great range of colours as well as the silver
And here is my pick of more gorgeous flat shoes
Next trend that you can definitely wear now is the pastel jumper. There are some gorgeous colours, so break out of dark and go into pastel. Wear now with jeans and later with linen (and any of the above shoes). Here is a mouth watering selection of feminine colours:
Finally the tapered trouser. It was around last season and continues into this one. Versatile enough to wear with heels or flats (now we have justified those new shoes surely?) for work and weekend. Although you may prefer to keep the bright ones for casual wear. They come in three options bright (to wear with a neutral or if you are brave enough a clashing colour) neutral and variations on monotone which work brilliantly with the pastel knits and metallic shoes. Below I’ve shown a selection of the brights and monotones.
And styling ideas for putting it all together (outfit two would fit so well into my spring wardrobe):
What do you think of these 3 pieces? Are you tempted by these spring trends?
