It’s been a while since I’ve done a roundup of favourite new beauty products and as a product junkie that doesn’t mean I haven’t been buying and trying!
Starting with Chanel…
My new favourite nail colour Rouge Moire, a pretty berry colour that’s subtle enough for day and great for evening too.
I’m a fan of cream blushers – I layer them under powder blush to make the colour last longer – and with my existing Bobbi Brown ones on their last legs I decided to try two new ones. The first of the two is one of Chanel’s new Blush creme de Chanel in Destiny – a warm but soft brown which is velvety and applies easily with fingers, perfect for days when I am wearing browns, reds and green.
My new autumn lipstick is Chanel’s Rouge Allure in Enigmatique a satiny, shimmery red that’s not too bright and in it’s black and gold case so glamorous you won’t mind getting it out and touching up your lipstick in public!
Another favourite brand I return to again and again is Laura Mercier and my second cream blush comes from the Creme Cheek Colour range.
This is also velvety and long lasting. I chose Blaze which is a deep plum pink for wearing with all the lovely berry colours of the season. I really like the consistency of both this and the Chanel blush as they aren’t too creamy and shiny, they both give a lovely natural velvety finish.
Also from Laura Mercier I decided to try an alternative to my favourite Bobbi Brown long wear eye shadow and chose two of the colours from Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick collection; Jungle and Sandglow. I have to say I think I am a convert. They are a couple of pounds more than Bobbi Brown’s longwear eye colour but for ease of use and staying power they are a real winner. As the name implies they come in a twist up stick that you can apply to the eye straight from the stick and then blend with a finger tip. They go on evenly and stay put all day without creasing.
There’s a great range of colours to choose from too.
Finally a new foundation I have been trying out. I’ve been loathe to swap to anything heavier than my beloved Clinique CC cream but had read so much about this product I had to find out for myself whether it lived up to the hype. L’Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint is very light and easy to blend and the finish is silky but not shiny making the skin look really healthy.
Of course I never buy just one product when I can try two so L’Oreal’s Lumi Magique Pearl Powder also feel into my basket! It claims to mattify, highlight and give a radiant health glow and I certainly liked the finish and luminosity it gave my skin.
Let me know if you try any of these products and what you think of them – or do you have your own new product you’s like to share?
