Like most women I am a handbag lover and have had my eye on a Mulberry Bayswater for several years, thinking that maybe this would be my gift for my next ‘big’ birthday, so I didn’t expect to be swayed by a brand that I had never heard of. However, this is a secret that I can’t keep because these bags are truly gorgeous. The quality is outstanding (I carried one around the showroom for some time before having to have it extracted from my grasp!) and with prices for many “It” bags, including Mulberry, now reaching £700 and up the prices are exceptionally good for the quality.
The bags are designed by Mireia Llusia-Lindh, and on meeting this stylish lady you start to understand both her passion for style but also for quality. Mireia’s idea of creating the perfect bag was born from her not being able to find one herself. She says “during my years as a management consultant, I toiled to find handbags that suited my lifestyle. The bags on offer were either cool or functional. None was the perfect fusion of the two. I ran a small survey among other professional women… 95% said they couldn’t find their perfect handbag either. Equipped with a passion for design and an insider’s view into the lifestyle of busy women, I embarked on a mission to create truly multifaceted handbags. They had to be chic but also clever, luxurious but also attainable. Was I asking too much? Women are expected to shine in so many areas…Why can’t our handbags do the same? After months of hard work and lots of determination, Milli Millu was born.” And luckily for us the range now includes day and evening bags.
The handbags are all made in southern Spain from the finest and softest, Italian and Spanish leathers and feature ribbed cotton linings. The base of the bags are studded to reinforce them and ensure the bags keep their shape. The special ingredient is the thought that has been put into the interior. The shoulder bags feature separate compartments for laptop, papers, PDA/phone, pen and small personal “things”.
Whilst these bags are perfect for the working woman they work just as well for leisure. The pockets are great to carry a pair of sunglasses, a jumper or anything you like. And all the compartments are placed strategically so you can access them without having to take the bag off your shoulder… essential for multi-taskers!
