I love seeing all the Christmas makeup arriving in the shops and have to go for a good mooch around my local beauty halls, coming out with hands covered in an array of sparkles and gloss.
This year has been no different and I think if anything the choice is getting bigger. I was also delighted to see that Bobbi Brown had done party palettes in warm and cool. I absolutely adored the selection of colours available in the Tom Ford eye sets, however, they are eye wateringly expensive at £62! Still if you want the glamour of pulling a piece from Mr Ford from your handbag you could go for a lipstick.
Dior continue to produce beautiful eye sets and I always find something I love at Bobbi Brown – in fact my makeup drawer is beginning to look a bit like a shrine to BB! Compared to some of the aforementioned brands though I do think BB is good value and quality for the price.
Party skin should gleam so an illuminator like the very desirable illuminating powder from Chanel or the Nars Illuminating cream
(saucily named Orgasm and Super Orgasm) should be in your makeup purse or the ever popular Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick which has been produced in golds for Christmas.
I think party nails should be red or metallic especially at Christmas. Dior’s Or (gold) or Apparat which mixes both with a bright red with a gold sheen. I have already raved about Chanel’s Peridot. These nail varnishes tend to sell out in store very quickly but at the time of writing they are all still available online at Boots.
I have found one great inexpensive item from Boots, the Max Factor smokey eye crayon which comes in a variety of colours – I tried onyx which looks black and white but when on blends beautifully for the seductive eye look. So if you are maxed out with the cost of Christmas you can still get yourself a little treat to add glamour to your party.
